Seehofer praises the integration policy of the CDU

Details such as the minimum wage will be assessed

On Monday the 15th of February, the head of the Christian Social Union (CSU) Horst Seehofer, praised the measures and policies the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) has devised in order to ensure better integration of refugees.

The head of the CSU Horst Seehofer has praised the measures set up by the CDU to ensure that refugees are better integrated into society.  Seehofer told journalists on Monday at the CSU party meeting: "In principle we support the integration measures set up by the CDU."

However, there will be several details that need to be finalised and discussed, for example the issue of the minimum wage concerning refugees. On the one hand it should be important to establish a connection to the job market for refugees who are often unqualified for the work that is available to them. On the other hand refugees should not be subjected to very low wages.

The Federal Executive Committee of the CDU want to implement the measure on Monday, refugees and successful asylum seekers will only receive the minimum wage six months after they started a job.
