Paris attacks: More police presence in Germany
Observation will get intensified
After the attacks of Paris, the police said they will especially protect public spaces and stations.
Düsseldorf - Federal Minister of Justice Heiko Maas (SPD) has announced that a visibly increase of the police will happen after the series attacks in Paris. "The police, you see, will also look slightly different than before," Maas said in the program "Maybrit Illner special". The equipment will be another, said the Minister of Justice.
The national chairman of the Federation of German Detectives, André Schulz, said in the broadcast that the police would particularly protect public spaces and stations after the attacks. The police would "be armed as we know otherwise."
Schulz spoke at the same time against an "unlimited upgrade". The security authorities must now act intelligent and not "over-excited". The security situation was not worsened by the attacks in Paris. "We have the threat since 9/11", since the terrorist attacks of the network al-Qaeda in the United States on 11 September 2001.
