Maas wants no tolerance of antisemitism
Secretary of state wants everyone to help
Federal Secretary of state Heiko Maas (SPD) wants zero tollerance for anti semitism on the 80th anniversary of the Kristallnacht in 1938, where hundreds of jewish shops and synagogs were destroyed be the NS party and its members.
Berlin - “Anti-Semitic offenders need to feel the full power of justice.“ said Maaß in an interview with the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung on wednesday. He also appealed to the civil society to help.
Maaß then demanded that “All of society needs to clarify that there is no space for antisemitism in germany“. This was Maaß´s response to Neo-Nazi demonstrations in Dortmund and Chemnitz. He then added “We are all needed to protect our open a free Democracy.“
In the Kristallnacht on the 9th november of 1938 many synagogs, jewish shops and houses were destroyed and countless of Jews were injured. The night was organised by the Nazi party but there were also civilians involved in the crimes.
