Ex-Bayern President Hoeneß released from jail

He has been released halfway through his sentence

Uli Hoeneß is once again a free man. The former President of the German football club Bayern München has been released prematurely after completing half of his three and half year sentence.

Uli Hoeneß is once again a free man. The former President of the German football club Bayern München has been released prematurely after completing half of his three and half year sentence and this has been confirmed by the Bavarian ministry of justice this morning. Further details have not be revealed.

 Hoeneß was sentenced to three and half years of imprisonment on the 13th of March 2014 due to the tax evasion of 28,5 million euros. He began his jail sentence on the the 2nd of June 2014, and since the beginning of 2015 he has been allowed to leave jail under supervision. Since then the former Bayern boss has worked at the youth department of the Bayern football club during the day.
