Kramp Karrenbauer wants “humane“ dealings in CDU
She has only plan A: Election to party leader
Before the election of a new party leader at the CDU meeting on Friday and Saturday, Annegret Kamp-Karrenbauer has called for a fair ending to the elections.
Berlin - Kramp-Karrenbauer told the News channel Phoenix that she wants to be able to “to look at myself in the mirror“ in an interview on Wednesday. It is about a “proper humane dealing“ with the situation in the CDU.
She also added that she had no plan B just a plan A, which is to win the election. “I want to convince the party members to elect me as their leader. That´s plan A and there is no plan B.“ Kramp-Karrenbauer had recently announced that in case of a loss, she would not continue her current position as general secretary of the CDU.
At the moment there is three promising candidates for the position as party leader after Angela Merkel had stepped down from her position after 18 years. The candidates are Kramp-Karrenbauer, Friedrich Merz, and federal health minister Jens Spahn.
